CARDINHAM WOODS
Cardinum woods is just a short drive from Trenake
and very close to Bodmin and Bodmin Moor. The area has a number of
well marked trails which are graded with some being suitable for
wheelchair access.
Cardinham, situated to the east of Bodmin, contains over 250 hectares of
mixed woodland set within a complex series of impressive steep valleys and
narrow ravines. A car park and all ability trails are available together
with a woodland cafe that provides home made
cakes and scones with of course Cornish clotted cream.
A new woodland play area has
just been opened too, offering a great day out for all the family. For
those wishing a more active pursuit Cardinham provides many opportunities
for the walker, cyclist or horse rider to explore the wood's nooks and
crannies.
This charming view is the first thing you see when you park at Cardinum woods. During the summer months children and adults alike take the time to paddle and muse over this lovely spot. There a re a number of marked and graded walks. This is one of the easier walks and would be wheelchair and cycle friendly
